Ordering yarn
Please note that at this point we do not operate ecommerce through our website.

If you cannot make it to our shop in person, you are welcome to call us on 01626 836203 where you can discuss with a member of staff whether we have the yarn you are looking for in stock, and we can take an order over the phone.

Alternatively, email us at hello@spinayarndevon.co.uk and a member of staff will get back to you. If you prefer to pay online, we can issue a PayPal invoice for you to do so.

Whilst Spin A Yarn will endeavour to take delivery of yarn ordered within a verbally agreed timescale, we are not responsible for delays caused by incidents out of our control, such as manufacturing company changing hands or natural disasters at supplier. In such events we will do our best to keep customers informed.

It is important that if it is essential that your order reaches you urgently, you let us know at the point of ordering.

We are unable to accept responsibility for undelivered goods in the event that the recipient is unable or unavailable to receive them. You will need to follow the instructions left with you by the deliverer to obtain them (for example missed delivery slip). If no instructions have been left, please contact your local post office to make them aware of this.

We accept payment by most major debit and credit cards. We reserve the right to refuse an order if we are advised by our payment provider (currently WorldPay) that the payment offered is potentially fraudulent.

International sales

Unfortunately due to the additional complexity and cost of processing international orders post-Brexit, we no longer sell overseas as standard.

Loyalty Card Scheme

We operate a Loyalty Scheme which is available to all customers who spend more that £100 with us.

New customers will automatically receive Loyalty privileges when cumulative sales reach £100 (once they have brought in receipts as proof). As a Loyalty Card holder, you have the right to a discount on all future purchases of 10%, excluding patterns and books.

Please note that in being a Loyalty Card Holder and making use of our discount scheme, we are assuming your consent to staying on our mailing list. If you ask to be removed from our mailing list, we cannot guarantee to honour your Loyalty Card discount as we may not be able to locate your details at time of purchase.

Returns and replacements – in-store sales

Please note that comply with Trading Standards regulations, we are unable to accept returns of yarn bought in our shop. If you would like to buy extra yarn to ensure you do not run short, we operate a layby system where we will but back one or two balls of the yarn until you know whether you need it or not.

Due to copyright law we do not accept returns of books or patterns.

Returns and replacements – mail order (orders taken via phone/email)

If you would like to cancel or return your order, you may do so until up to 14 days after your order is delivered. Please email us at the above address or call 01626 836203 to arrange this.

We will arrange for a full refund of the cost of the goods, providing the items are unused, unopened and in a saleable condition. We will not be able to cover the cost of returning the goods to us. Goods must be returned in unused, resaleable condition in their original packaging, including ballbands/labels. Please note that we are unable to accept any yarn that has been exposed to cigarette/cigar smoke or bears evidence of pet hair or moth activity.

Due to copyright law we do not accept returns of books or patterns.

Faulty goods

We will provide a full refund (including the cost or return for mail order items), for all goods that are faulty in manufacture – please keep the ball bands of any faulty goods to help identify the faulty lot at the supplier. This does not cover items which have been damaged by the customer or by regular wear and tear. Please email us at the above address or call 01626 836203 if you have received a faulty item.
